About Us

Mike Mueller started as a part-time volunteer here at Immanuel serving as a Youth and Community Life Director in September of 2010. God opened the door in January of 2012 for Mike to officially join the full-time ministry staff of Immanuel. His wife of almost 15 years, Renee, serves along side him as a part-time youth volunteer. Mike was born right here in Hood River and Renee is from San Francisco, California. They met in Windsor, California Where they both grew up, and were also married there in May of 2002. Throughout their marriage they have lived in California, Hawaii, and Oregon. They are happy to call Hood River their home. Mike and Renee have a 9-year-old-son named Mikey whom they adore. In April of 2017, Mike & Renee adopted 4 boys, Alan (17), Logan (16), Nathan (14), and Ryan (12). They were all a part of the CRASH Youth Group and were close to Mike and Renee. The boys lost their mom tragically at the age of 38. There was no father in the picture and no other family capable of caring for them. They were going to be separated into the foster care system. So the family of 3 grew to a family of 7 overnight.

Both Mike and Renee attended University of Phoenix and received an Associate of Art degree. Mike received a degree in Childhood Education, and Renee received a degree in Psychology. They have also received advanced training certificates at Freedom in Christ Ministries (Knoxville, TN). Both Mike and Renee have powerful testimonies of God's amazing grace in their past lives. They have each gone through many challenges in their earlier lives, especially in their teens and early twenties that God is now using in their ministry to the teens of our community today. Their stories highlight God's grace, mercy and restoration power at work in those who are willing to place their hope and trust completely in Him. They enjoy teaching about God's love, making life choices, and helping the teens they mentor to grow in and live out their faith in Jesus Christ. Mike and Renee are committed to developing long-term relationships with as many teens as possible so they too can know Jesus transforming love, power and grace.
